Mindful Meditation | Rainbow Visualization Exercise

Today I’m going to lead you in a visualization color exercise. This is a mindful meditation that takes you through the seven colors of the rainbow and in return you will receive the sense of feeling balanced and whole. Let’s get started.

 

Start by finding a relaxed and comfortable location. This could be sitting in a comfortable chair with your feet on the ground or even standing with your feet grounded on the earth. You choose.

 

Feel your body begin to relax as you drop your shoulders and take a deep breath... hold it... slowly exhale out..

 

Close your eyes and create a picture in your mind of the color red.

Explore red of all shades...

 

Think about objects you encounter each day that are red... roses... bricks... apples... sunset...

 

Repeat the words “I have. I have all that I need. I have my health. I have.”

 

Enjoy the color red.

Now shift the picture in your head so red bleed to the color orange.

 

Picture the color orange... infinite shades of orange... flowers... pumpkins... carrots...

Repeat the words “I feel. I feel blessed. I feel whole. I feel.”

 

Enjoy the color orange.

Now brighten the visual to the color yellow. See in your imagination all the various shades of yellow. Allow yellow to fill your vision... lemons... flowers... fall leaves... the sun…

 

Imagine the endless tones of the color yellow. Imagine yourself surrounded with the calming color yellow... Immerse yourself...

 

Repeat the words “I can. I can have it all. I can heal myself. I can”

 

Enjoy the color yellow.

Let the color you are imagining shift to green. Fill your imagination with the color green. Endless shades and tones of green... plants... leaves... grass.... grapes…

 

Imagine being surrounded by beautiful green... all shades from the lightest to the darkest, bright green... subdued green...

 

Repeat the words “I love. I love myself. I love others. I love.”

 

Enjoy the color green.

Now see in your mind the green changing to blue. Surround yourself with beautiful blue... Unending shades of blue... water... sky... blueberries….

 

Imagine blue filling your vision...

 

Repeat the words “I speak. I speak truth. I speak even in silence. I speak.”

 

Enjoy the color blue.

Allow the color in your imagination to blossom into violet... Focus on the multitude of purples around you... flowers... sunrise... plums…

 

Immerse yourself in the color violet...

 

Repeat the words “I see. I see my glorious life. I see beautiful beings and all of creation around me. I see.”

 

Enjoy the color violet.

Now let all the color fade into white. Let pure white envelope you into a soft hug. Allow the white light to glow and fill you with strength and power. Everlasting untainted white… clouds…. Snow… milk…

 

Revel in the color white.

 

Repeat the words “I am. I am happy, healthy, and whole. I am.”

Now allow your attention to return to your breathing... notice how calm and regular your breathing is now...

 

Meditate on the calming color relaxation once more...

 

Imagine the colors again, one at a time... starting with red...

Orange...

Yellow...

Green...

Blue...

Violet...

White….

 

It is now time to return your attention to your regular activities...

 

Become more alert with each breath you take...

 

More aware of your surroundings...

 

Stretch. Feel fully alert and calm.
